A wedding on Mauritius -

Couples can choose to have a civil ceremony or religious ceremony.

Religious Ceremony If you wish to have a Religious Ceremony you are required to be resident on the island a minimum of 15 days prior to the ceremony taking place. It is possible to have either an Anglican or Catholic Wedding in Mauritius, however although Catholic weddings are possible they are very difficult to arrange for non-Mauritians. Before you can have a religious wedding you must first have had a Civil Wedding (this may also be referred to as a standard wedding), this can either be performed in Mauritius or back home in the UK. However it would be easier and reduce the amount of red-tape you experience considerably should you choose to marry back home.
